“Centuries-Old Ugra” is a long-term awareness-raising program on historical and cultural rebranding of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Ugra aimed at attracting the attention of residents of the Autonomous Okrug as well as external audience to the territory’s history and culture. The program has a high spiritual and practical value, specifically for the residents of the Autonomous Okrug as it forms a special socio-cultural environment of Ugra citizens’ self-identification, contributing to patriotic upbringing of the youth, uniting all generations based on the Okrug’s rich history. The discussion venue needs to develop a shared approach to Ugra’s anniversary date based on historic manuscripts, outline specific approaches and an action plan of writing the academic history of Ugra. A list of the most important events within the awareness-raising program in 2018 must also be created during the discussion.
